DHYANA — ‘TRIKAYA’

This dark temple of Buddhist-doom is an imaginative and relaxing way to start off a black moon night. DHYANA is a single-soul ambient doom metal band from Galliano, Louisiana who’s on their third release of the year! ‘Trikaya’ has a simmering essence from the doomy chords with a soothing, almost religious-like, experience thanks to the Buddhist background sounds. It’s an intriguing combination that gives the listener a sense of calm and rising inner-power. CONAN — ‘EVIDENCE OF IMMORTALITY’

There’s no better time to listen to CONAN then right when they put out a new album (ha!). But the second best time is during an epic moon transformation. CONAN doesn’t disappoint (when do they ever?) with their new album ‘EVIDENCE OF IMMORTALITY‘! With their raspy screams and a bouncing sludge beat CONAN this is the perfect album for some mid-ritual energy. ‘EVIDENCE OF IMMORTALITY’ was released earlier this year but it will always hold weight. REAPTILE — ‘HUMANIDEAD’

One hell of an album! REAPTILE is a hardcore sludge metal band from Fribourg, Switzerland who’s recently released their new album ‘Humanidead’! This is not your average sludge album — it’s an eclectic work of art with variations of tempo and hardcore/beatdown influences. The vocals from REAPTILE for ‘Humanidead’ keeps the music true to it’s sludgy roots while the riff slip into different genres of metal. Each song will keep you guessing as to where it’s going to go and are individually complex in their own way. OLM — ‘PRØ-LI-Å-HØR-HÆR (ÆGÅ)’

I usually don’t do this but this album couldn’t be denied. OLM is a sludge metal band from Aarhus, Denmark and this is their first album from 2017. Normally I review new albums but after coming across this, I just had to include it! ‘Prø-li-å-hør-hær (ægå)’ comes with a murky sensation like walking through a dense forest. Sprinkled within are little genre-bending specks of psychedelic and melodic metal. Their second album ‘Omstændigheder’ only has two songs but they’re pretty long — true to the magic that is doom metal.
