Hey heyyyy! I hope everyone’s week is going well so far! I’m getting a lot of random crazy looking emails from all over the place from bands looking to be featured! Super excited about that. However some of these emails are looking kinda… haha… wow. Some are good. Some are GREAT. And then there are those that are like, oh I don’t know, missing key pieces of information (or even the YouTube video needed)! Yikes.
To make it simple and sweet for everyone I’m just going to type this up real fast and blast it out. I love the music I’m getting, I just hate having to waste time looking for things that should be in the email. And I’m not gonna lie, sometimes I just delete them if they’re super incomplete. All outlets do. We don’t have time for that shit. Let me show you how to send an email for a feature so we can get your ass in this MFKNZINE!
HOW TO SUBMIT YER SHIT!
- Do you have a YouTube video of a full-length album or a badass music video that is NOT hosted by SMOD? Yeah? Cool. Copy and paste that link into the email (preferably last).
- WHO ARE YOU? Introduce yourself like Slim Shady… “Hi! My name is…” and tell me a bit about your band. What genre? Where from? Any latest news I need to know (album coming out/upcoming tour etc)? The tidbits. That’s all I need to make a decision.
- SEND A PHOTO. Who are the people making the sounds? I want to see them. Simple enough.
- SEND ME YOUR LINKS! What’s your Bandcamp? Your social medias? I need them!
- How ELSE do you relate to MFKNZINE‘s content? Do you love weed? Horror films? Are you into witchcraft? Addicted to/affiliated with (or just plain love) porn/sex/fetishes? Are any of your members LGBT+, Femme, or POC? TELL ME! These little known facts can better illustrate how to write about your band and gain more traction based on the multiple topics at play.
- SEND IT ALL TO MFKNZINE@GMAIL.COM with “(YOUR GENRE) (YOUR BAND NAME) FOR MFKNZINE FEATURE” in the subject line — no other form has ever, or will ever be accepted. Not a YouTube video comment on a FaceBook post. Not a tag in an Instagram post. A real life email. Shocking!

- If you are looking to submit for STONER METAL SATURDAY you must have “STONER METAL SATURDAY” in the subject line.
- EX: DOOM METAL BAND WINDHAND FOR STONER METAL SATURDAY FEATURE
- And of course… are you METAL ENOUGH? If you’re an indie pop band… THIS IS NOT FOR YOU. You fuckers are killing me. Why do you think you go here?
