Holy shit, it’s actually raining in Los Angeles! Well, there goes any plans that were loosely made but were probably going to get flaked on anyways. Living here I forget that the rest of the world has rain until it starts raining here… I need to go chill in the woods for a while! VOID MASTER — ‘CULT’
I honestly wish it was a thunder/lightning storm, cause this is the perfect album for it! Low droning bassline driving the slow rhythm through over thirty minutes of doom and gloom. VOID MASTER is a psych/doom metal band from Colorado Springs, Colorado! Their latest release entitled ‘Cult’ is the second album of their upcoming career (and my favorite). If you’re into bands like ELECTRIC WIZARD but want more of an instrumental vibe with the bong rips included, VOID MASTER is your band! CULT OF SORROW — ‘INVOCATION OF THE LUCIFER’
“GLORY TO SATAN!” Who doesn’t like to shake a little ass to a thunderstorm? CULT OF SORROW had released their third album ‘Invocation of the Lucifer’ back in September of 2019 and it’s their best work yet! Looking at their discography, CULT OF SORROW‘s music is mostly occult themed. This Cincinnati, Ohio band has a unique kind of vibe — really loving the occult themes mixed with a grunge style to stoner rock. CLOUDS TASTE SATANIC — ‘THE SATANIC SERIES VOL.3’
I’m really curious as to how this band got the name CLOUDS TASTE SATANIC — but the music is far more important. This New York band is a devilish mixture of the first two that I just showed you; doom/grungy stoner/instrumental — and it’s a COVER EP. It took me a second but I was like, “is that Nirvana?!” — doom Nirvana cover… what the fuck?! CLOUDS TASTE SATANIC‘s ‘The Satanic Series VOL. 3’ is an amazing album to get stoned and zoned out to during a fierce rainy day. ERED GULDUR — ‘THE MARCH OF THE UNDEAD‘
If Phantom of the Opera went completely doom — no lie, it’s fucking fantastic. ERED GULDUR is the band you need when you want something dark and epic. This amazing dark doom metal band is from Sabadell, Spain and ‘The March of the Undead’ will be their first official release! The haunting feminine vocals brings shivers down the spine and quells the blood — I don’t think it could be any darker than this. I’m intrigued to hear more from ERED GULDUR! FLOOD PEAK — ‘FIXED RITUAL’
There’s always something darker just waiting on the other side — FLOOD PEAK is the best example of blackened sludge I’ve seen in a while. ‘Fixed Ritual’ was just released yesterday and I[‘m already in need of more! FLOOD PEAK if a three-piece band from Portland, Oregon who’ve only had one album out in February of 2018. With this black sludge masterpiece I’m already loving the vibe of this band. If you have a thunderstorm going on where you live, or you don’t but you want one — play this. The hard-hitting drums and raging vocals will definitely get the rain gods going.
