ALBUM REVIEW MUSIC NEWS! STONER METAL SATURDAY!

STONER METAL SATURDAY — INSTAGRAM BUDDIES! (JANUARY 16, 2021)

Hey everyone! Another Saturday to jam with some new music! Feeling much better, and more optimistic about living in America all of a sudden… I wonder why. In any case, this week I’ll be featuring bands from my Instagram who entered in a “no-competition contest” and I’ve been combing through the comments and seeing who’s been paying attention to the details of the post (yes, I check)! The doom/stoner bands that I like who followed through on the post get featured on here about once a month. I started it last month on a whim, now I think I’ll be doing this monthly to find more and more bands! Since I’m looking to find and promote as many bad ass bands as possible (especially now that it’s my new year’s resolution), I’ll be trying out new ways and sources for music! Now, let’s see who’s been rocking my Instagram lately!

CRYSTAL SPIDERS — ‘MOLT’

Really digging this slow burn rock n’ roll/doom metal band by the name of CRYSTAL SPIDERS! Emerging from Raleigh, North Carolina, this band is a female vocalized ride into the new. CRYSTAL SPIDERS‘ latest release ‘Molt’ is a powerhouse record of feral wails and bursting with riffs. I love how much variety this album has — expect the unexpected with this one. ‘Molt’ is their first studio album (they have a demo on their Band Camp as well!). Check out their music below and be sure to purchase it at their official Band Camp page!

FUMAROLE — ‘VALLEY OF TEN THOUSAND SMOKES’

FUMAROLE‘s album ‘Valley Of Ten Thousand Smokes’ is pure stoner rock n’ roll heaven for those true daily tokers. Coming out of Brisbane, Australia this isn’t their first rodeo — they’ve been rockin’ since 2018. This band is giving me everything I need for a good headbanging/hair whipping session. FUMAROLE takes you on a vibrant journey with this latest release and I highly recommend that you check them out below and on their official Band Camp page!

GRAVE NEXT DOOR — “SANCTIFIED HEATHEN”

GRAVE NEXT DOOR is another badass band that’s more stoner rock n’ roll and they’re from Grand Rapids, Michigan! “Sanctified Heathen” is GRAVE NEXT DOOR‘s third single release from 2019 and I’m looking forward to hearing more music! In regards to the song it was “inspired by a friend who battled addiction and lost everything She climbed back from the depths of hell to regain everything she lost in life. On her chest she wears a tattoo that reads “Sanctified Heathen” — this song is a ray of hope to overcoming one’s demons and being the captain of one’s own life.” Check it out below and listen to their other two amazing tracks on their official Band Camp page!

BLACK TAR SUPERSTAR — “HAIL TO THE SUCCUBUS”

IG | FB | BAND CAMP

This stoner/doom metal band from Akron, Ohio has a sickening sound with this song “Hail To The Succubus”. Dirty doom vocals and lively stoner rock riffs mix to create this interesting sound. BLACK TAR SUPERSTAR have made an very interesting music video to match with their dark and sexy sound. And today BLACK TAR SUPERSTAR are releasing their new EP ‘Old Gods, Awaken’! Seriously check it out in all its unholy glory and don’t forget to check out the music video for “Hail To The Succubus” below and their official Band Camp site here!

HELL YEAH!!!
