Heyyyy! Okay, so the last post I did was pretty cool, and I’m thinking about changing my angle up on this post too! So this week I want to do a little showcase from this BADASS PR company called EARSPLIT that I’ve been more than happy to work with since I’ve started this thing (BIG shout out to Liz and Dave!!!). With this post it’s not just about the bands, it’s about the people and the different parts of the industry that make everything come together. My main niche is underground, and with that a lot of bands have no clue on what to do, where to go for certain things, or who to talk to. I kinda feel like it’s a part of my job to help that along.

So…. what’s PR? PR stands for “public relations” and PR people get your band’s name out there. They email outlets like myself and others to promote your music so you can chill out and just MAKE IT. Nice huh? They tend to be in league with record labels too — that’s going to be another post! So with that little tidbit of information, let’s start this off!

AUROCH – STOLEN ANGELIC TONGUES

What a way to start a playlist off! Vancouver DEATH METAL band AUROCH is a massive force to be reckoned with. Harsh, deep vocals and wild ass riffs — perfection. The entire mini album is about the length of one good doom metal song (very different!) so they don’t waste any time trying to make your ears bleed. Seriously digging “Coffin Nails” right now… but that last one. What IS that growl?! I LOVE it! You’ll see what I mean in a bit. Check it out!

BEAR — “GUTTER LOVE”

This is the shiiiiiiiit!!! My speakers refuse to go any higher… okay. That breakdown two minutes in…. FUUUUUUUUCK!!! Belgian PROGRESSIVE/DJENT METAL band BEAR is not as cute as they sound. At no point do they let up, not even for a moment. BEAR‘s “Gutter Love” is a relentless echo of screams, some sexy clean vocals, and all of the drum kit beat downs you could want. The music video is pretty sick too (that ending though). “Gutter Love” is just one of the newly released songs from their upcoming album called Propaganda which is due on May 8th. Between you and me I already have it…. but you can play the three songs (“Apollo’s Heist”, “Gutter Love” and “Kuma”) which were released on their BandCamp Page!

DESTROYED IN SECONDS — “DIVIDE AND DEVOUR”

I must say… this is not what I had in mind when I read “Divide and Devour” hahaha (insert dirty joke here)! But I was definitely DESTROYED IN SECONDS regardless! This Los Angeles HARDCORE PUNK band (ayyye!) knows how to get down! Definitely one I need to see in person for sure! Endless thrashing, and savage vocals! Everything you need from a punk band! I’ll be looking for their shows as soon as this quarantine is over. Their album Divide and Devour (same name as the song below) was released this past Friday! Check them out and get DESTROYED IN SECONDS!!!

OKKULTOKRATI — “LOATHE FOREVER”

*A new and interesting mix has entered the chat* whoa… this is like BLACK METAL VS PUNK ROCK and I’m loving the in between divide. This is something I’d throw on if I were having a goth beach party (CAN WE HAVE A GOTH BEACH PARTY?!). “Loathe Forever” is one of the amazing songs off of their upcoming record LA ILDEN LYSE — which roughly translates to “Keep The Fire Burning”. Norwegian band OKKULTOKRATI will have their music ready for the world’s consumption on May 15th via BandCamp!

ULTHAR — “THROUGH DOWNWARD DYNASTIES”

Another killer. Oakland BLACKENED DEATH METAL band ULTHAR is not fucking around for their upcoming sophomore album. The first release “Through Downward Dynasties” is just a taste of the band’s sickening sound. The constant beat switch on the drums is fucking savage and the vocals cut through like acid rain. Loud, deranged, and full of rage…. just how I like it. The new album coming is called PROVIDENCE and is set to release this summer on June 12th! We only get one song for now… but it’s one HELL of a track! Listen to it below!
