DEVOURED ELYSIUM – “SLAUGHTER FOR NO REASON”
What a way to start a MFKN MONDAY! This was sent to me ON my birthday (February 28th), so I missed it. I was probably fucked up somewhere… whoops! SLAMMING BRUTAL DEATH METAL band from Turkey, DEVOURED ELYSIUM is not one you should sleep on. Seriously makes me long for the good old days of going out to shows, and enjoying myself in a mosh pit… almost had one at home (hahaha!) while listening to this. The attack this drummer is putting on their kit is intense, not to mention the deep guttural sounds from lead vox (that ending howl.. oh my god!!!). And this is only the beginning — their album Extermination Policies will be out soon!

RED TONGUE GHOST – “THE WITCH”
I don’t know about you… but I honestly feel like freaking the ABSOLUTE fuck out and just screaming my fucking head off right now. This song is verrrrrry helpful with that. I don’t know what my neighbors think is going on in here… but I don’t give a shit. Chi-town (Chicago) band RED TONGUE GHOST is one of those that’s a little hard to categorize. Overall, it’s some serious black metal mixed with sludge, death, and doom (like my rag hahaha!). The otherworldly screams are everything that I need right now… and you probably need it too. “The Witch” is my favorite song of theirs for that reason. Do yourself a favor…

HYDRILLA – SELF TITLED
Another guttural screamer, but this time followed by some nice, groovy riffs. SOUTHERN GROOVE METAL band from Deer Park, TX (I miss Texas!) HYDRILLA brings that southern vibe to form their style of groove metal. Their FULL EP is on YouTube and it makes me feel all down and dirty… in a good way (hahaha!). Kinda reminds me of Lamb of God (and that bloody ass fuckin pit!). I highly recommend going through their album below… and don’t freak out like I did — yeah, their logo is slowly spinning and it tripped me out! I thought I was too high for a second (hahaha!).

DESCEND TO ACHERON – “YOUR SUFFERING IS A GIFT”
This music is perfect for our apocalyptic times — horrifically brutal and relentless. BLACKENED DEATH METAL band from Australia (we’re getting a lot of Aussie love here!) DESCEND TO ACHERON mixes breakdown bursts and fast as fuck riffs — then for a moment it’s melodic like a sweet center right before they blast your ass again. I need to see these fuckers live! …you know, when it’s okay to leave the house. Best part — if you love the song (and.. you do), you can download it for FREE on their BandCamp page!

LOW WAGE
This band kicked my ass hahaha! LOW WAGE is a badass HARDCORE PUNK/GRINDCORE band from Champaign, Illinois (I almost typed champagne haha!). This is my “FUCK… EVERYTHIIIIIING!!!” music. I love how their whole album not even six minutes long. Hilarious. It’s like “fuck a whole album, this is what you get”. Kind of funny to go from thirty minute songs to (what was it?) forty-nine second songs. Pretty jarring. The whole album just drips with rage and I’m all for it. In these times… that’s about all I feel right now. Put on YouTube on my birthday (it was a big music day I guess), LOW WAGE‘s album is everything punk is about. Perfect music to help me chill out and not give a fuck about anything. Live in the moment. Mosh at home. Wreck your living room table and all of it’s contents. FUCK IT!
