Ohhh yes! From the beginning I knew that this album needed to make the list. ABDITORY is a old school death metal and new age deathcore band coming from Styria, Austria. With ‘ALIENS VS/ PRIESTS: SUMMER OF 1690‘ being their latest record I can only imagine the next! This album is a theatrical tale of war between (you guessed it) aliens and priests set to wildly violent riffs and extreme vocals. ‘ALIENS VS/ PRIESTS: SUMMER OF 1690‘ can be best described as a deranged bedtime story that only the Devil could tell. ESOPHAGUS — ‘KILLING FOR SPORT’
If you ever wanted to know what the Predator sounded like on the mic, now’s your chance! Brutal death metal band ESOPHAGUS has just bestowed their new album unto the world entitled ‘KILLING FOR SPORT’ — what a perfect name. Coming from Chile, Concepción, this band knows how to control their sound. The gutterals and growls are a distinct match to the actual creature from the movie, it’s astounding. ‘KILLING FOR SPORT’ is only three songs long but they’ll be coming out with more music soon! ENTHEOS — “ABSOLUTE ZERO”
ENTHEOS has released a brand new single from their upcoming album and it’s their first song with METAL BLADE RECORDS! Coming from Santa Cruz, California progressive death metal band ENTHEOS has been in the game since 2015. Via Metal Blade Records: “To us, ‘Absolute Zero’ has always felt like an obvious choice to release as a single,” the band says. “It’s a raw, aggressive song that represents the descent into darkness that we often times must face in order to progress and appreciate our lives. The video was shot by the incredible David Brodsky and Allison Woest, who were able to capture the emotion of the song perfectly.” Simply put, it’s one Hell of a record! The vocals alone are out of this world along with the split-changing riffs and tempos. I’m very much looking forward to hearing the rest of this album with METAL BLADE (congrats!)! DEFLESHED — ‘GRIND OVER MATTER’
Another one from METAL BLADE RECORDS! DEFLESHED is a Swiss thrash/death/grindcore band from the 90’s-00’s and has finally released their first album in seventeen years! ‘GRIND OVER MATTER’ is a hardcore thrashy version of today’s music. The old school vibes are very present here and the energetic chords makes it feel like no time has passed at all. Let’s go grindcore!!! Since I’m in the mood for some grindcore I’ve got to add the new album by Swiss grindcore band SICKRECY! Their new album ‘SALVATION THROUGH TYRANNY’ is the perfect grindcore and thrash metal fusion. Although newly formed in 2022, SICKRECY has released three EPs this year — their latest being just only a few days ago. SICKRECY‘s ‘SALVATION THROUGH TYRANNY’ is already proving to be more powerful than their previous EPs — the others being only half as long. If you’re trying to open up the pit in your house or office party — this is it right here! HISS FROM THE MOAT – “I AM THE DECEIVED”
Another rager! HISS FROM THE MOAT is a death metal band from Italy/Liverpool (possibly living in the US now, not too sure) who’s just come out with their new album ‘THE WAY OUT OF HELL’. And from this amazing album is the song called “I AM THE DECEIVED” who’s hard-hitting drums and demonically pleasing vocals give the listener the best opportunity to break their necks headbanging! “I AM THE DECEIVED” is a build-up for the remaining deathy songs of the record and is a beautiful track just on its own! SALEM BURNING – “THE DEFILER (Y’GOLONAC)”
Oh.. my god. Yes. If you need that epic, end of days via satanic fire, this is the song for you! SALEM BURNING has let loose a monster of a song called “THE DEFILER (Y’GOLONAC)”! This blackened deathcore metal band from Brownsville, Texas gives us a glorious beginning with a fiery finish with their new track. “THE DEFILER (Y’GOLONAC)” is a track from their upcoming album ‘IMMORTALIA ET IMPERIUM MORTIS’, which translates to “Immortality and the Empire of Death”. I can’t tell you how much I love the graphic beginning of this record — check it out for yourself and you’ll see why I needed it on this list!
