ALBUM REVIEW ALBUMS DROPPED THIS WEEK MUSIC NEWS! NEW RELEASES WITCHY SHIT PLAYLISTS

WITCHY SHIT PLAYLIST — ON WEDNESDAYS WE WEAR BLOOD (OCTOBER 19, 2022)

HELL-o everybody! I’m in the mood for something hard-hitting but still on the witchy/doomy side. These are more energetic and raw rather than mystical. I’m looking for fire and vibrance, and I think I’ve found it! I want to keep it short and sweet for the last bits of the Aries moon. Check these out!

SEA OF SNAKES — ‘THE SERPENT AND THE LAMB’

Los Angeles, California based stoner metal band SEA OF SNAKES has released their second album ‘The Serpent and the Lamb’! It’s more of a 90’s rock/stoner kind of style with Sully Erna-like vocals in some places. Ranging from hard rock to stoner/doom, to psychedelic vibes, this album has a little bit of everything. “Dead Man’s Song” has got to be my favorite — a psych-stoner center to an otherwise heavy stoner rock album. Check out ‘The Serpent and the Lamb’ below and make sure to get over to SEA OF SNAKESBandcamp page to purchase their music!

MORBID STENCH — ‘THE ROTTING WAYS OF DOOM’

Dirt nasty vocals, dreadful death riffs, and a sludgy finish — this is a gorgeous piece of work! MORBID STENCH is a death/doom metal band from San Salvador, El Salvador! With their second album ‘The Rotting Ways of Doom’, MORBID STENCH has a knack for taking old school death metal and spicing it up with doom (and a little something extra). They started coming out with albums since the pandemic in 2020 via Bandcamp but have since moved onto other outlets. This trek from 80’s/90’s death to a decayed sludge sound ‘The Rotting Ways of Doom’ gives an exhibition of the finest combination of genres. Check out the new MORBID STENCH album below and be sure to go here for their new album and merch!

KATLA/CZAR — ‘OVERDOSER (SPLIT)’

I love a good split album! With both bands coming from Copenhagen, Denmark these two bands are perfectly synchronized with each other’s energy. KATLA has been coming out with albums since 2018 while CZAR has been around since 2015 — and finally the stars aligned for them to work together for the ‘Overdoser’ split album. This is a deep, dark, doomy piece of art with not-so-subtle hints of sludge. The pair really compliment each other and would make for one hell of a tour! Check out their split album ‘Overdoser’ below and be sure to hit up their Bandcamp pages (both KATLA and CZAR) to listen to and purchase their other albums!

D PATROL — ‘VOLUME 1’

If you mixed 80’s heavy metal with stoner rock you’d have D PATROL from Achères, France! Instrumental, heavy, and a little spacey ‘Volume 1’ has a fiery quality that cannot be denied. This is a perfect album to listen to for getting yourself revved up and ready for anything. D PATROL has been around since 2020 with their first album ‘Carcasse’ — just two years later ‘Volume 1’ promises more high-spirited riffs in the future! Check out ‘Volume 1’ below and don’t forget to check out their other work on the official Bancamp page!
