Hey everyone! WELP! Aftershock sold out this year (big shock) and people are still looking for tickets. There’s a few cool hacks you can use to try and see if you can find some tickets (REAL tickets, no scalper BS). I’ve been in this kind of situation before back when I was going to photograph a show and I needed a ticket since the event was sold out (Circa Survive @ Ace of Spades). I didn’t know what to do but I had gotten ahold of some great advice that actually led me to my ticket for the show. So let’s get started!
AFTERSHOCK WAITLIST
Yes! There is an official Aftershock waitlist for people still looking for tickets! If for any reason tickets become available (layaway defaults, unused tickets from vendors, artists etc.) you will get the first pick! Just enter your name email and phone number here!
LYTE FAN-TO-FAN EXCHANGE
Basically, if you can’t make it, or REALLY want to go this is the site you use. Instead of looking for tickets on social media, you can register on LYTE and see who’s selling, or be the one selling your tickets! To buy tickets, put in your payment info and request the tickets your looking for (you will be charged automatically as soon as they become available so watch out for that). To sell tickets, just register the tickets you want to sell and put in your information! Easy Peasy! Check it out here!
GET ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Not everyone knows about the aforementioned above (maybe by next year?) so sometimes you’ve got to go old school. The first thing you need to do is head over to the official social media accounts of Aftershock Fest and start looking in the comment section. There’s bound to be someone on there trying to sell off tickets (make sure it’s the real deal though). Facebook and Instagram would be your best bet (in that order).
WHO DROPPED FROM THE LINEUP?
Whoever it was, you better believe there’s a ticket holder somewhere who’s sad that they can’t see this band anymore and will probably not want to go anymore (*cough cough* MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE). So this is a bit of the first piece of advice — same deal, just go to that band’s social media and see if anyone wants to sell their tickets off.
CHECK THE FORUMS
There’s plenty of forums out there for this kind of stuff such as Reddit and Discord — even Facebook groups yield a good amount of information a lot of the time. A simple search would do the trick in seeing if anyone has any tickets to spare. Also a good idea is adding yourself/joining groups in the area of the show (Sacramento) and seeing if anyone posted in there. Most of the people coming are locals so they would most likely post in locally tailored groups.
POST!
Post an ABP for some tickets yourself! Just as there are people looking to buy who aren’t commenting/posting, there are those looking to sell who are ALSO not commenting/posting — only looking. Put up a small ad for tickets and see who DMs you.
YUSSSSSS!!!
