Today is a slam day. I don’t know. I guess my brain woke up and chose violence haha! In music form that is (and other forms if someone wants to fuck around and find out). Probably because it’s Monday! Too much going on with the new riots and the Chauvin (racist/murderer/ex-cop) trial and keeping up with pandemic problems. So right now, I want to rage out to get ready for the chill times tomorrow! 420 is less than 12 hours away and I’m wound up, so I’m going to rage in this four-walled cage tonight! LET’S MFKN GO!!!!!
WHITE TIDES — “EMPTY SVNLIGHT”
Badass band coming right out of Rochester, NY! WHITE TIDES is a new hardcore metal band that’s live with their new song called “Empty Svnlight”. Released mid-pandemic, this song gives me a whooooole lot of energy to thrash around (sorry table and chairs)! I love that it’s a chill ass banger — but nothing too dramatic yet (waiting for it). I definitely want to hear some solos next track — we wanna see what you’re made of! Brilliant start so I’m not worried at all, just waiting. WHITE TIDES does not have a Band Camp to speak of (hopefully soon?), but they DO have social media so check them out on there and listen to their new song “Empty Svnlight” below!
AZAZEL — “LICE”
This song makes me itch like you wouldn’t belieeeeve! …but in a good way. I love this song so much right now. Currently dealing with some parasites of my own; worst case EVER — stupid people. Making it all better is this deathcore metal band from Nottingham, UK called AZAZEL — that’s actually a really pretty name.. ahh oops it’s a demon (looked it up) hahaha! Nevertheless, this band has got some chops! Really digging the hardcore vibe and all of those screams — they don’t hold back. So far this is the second release of the year called “Lice” and we’re on pins and needles thinking about an album drop! CANNIBAL CORPSE — ‘VIOLENCE UNIMAGINED’
Ohhhhh SHIT YEAH! So MOST of you know this band, and I don’t cover known bands much, but I can’t help it for today (I’m sure you don’t mind). CANNIBAL CORPSE is here with a spanking new album dropped this week called ‘Violence Unimagined’ — the perfect nightcap for this list. Fueled by rage and an unyielding lust for gore, blood and all things dismembered, CANNIBAL CORPSE has unleashed this enigmatic Hell and I love it! The very last time I saw them was pretty much right after I moved to Los Angeles in 2019 — they were at The Fonda with NECROT (ayyeeee lead singer just got engaged), MORBID ANGEL, and opened with BLOOD INCANTATION (February 21st). EPIC pit — I definitely remember getting punched in the face! It was great. I honestly miss getting punched in a mosh pit… in the meantime I’ll settle for the furniture.
