Heyyyy!!! It’s almost 420!!! And this year is going to be WAY more fun than 2020’s “I can’t even chill at the park down the street” 420 celebration. I had to go on a small hiatus to get some other shit going for the zine (and some personal stuff too) and it’s coming together nicely! So! This year is a do-over for a lot of us, and a brand new experience for some who have gotten into weed during COVID (welcome to the jungle hahaha!). I’ll be featuring a few good bands to get you started on your Pothead Pregame Playlist and on Tuesday… we’re gonna have some fun, so be sure to stay on our social medias to find out what’s gonna happen on here @ 4:20pm PST on 4/20!
HEAVE — ‘SELF TITLED’
This is some heavy shit — If you’re looking for something slow, chill, but more on the dark side — this is the album for you. Riffing all the way from Albuquerque, New Mexico, HEAVE knows how to hit that proverbial spot. Just released a couple of says ago, HEAVE‘s self titled album is giving me the energy I need to prepare for a night I won’t be able to recall. Loving the third song “Visionquest” — definitely here for that spiritual-sludge vibe! This is their first album (ayyyeee!!) and is available via Band Camp! Be sure to hit that up after you listen to HEAVE‘s album below!
FUZZTER — ‘POSTMORTEM’
This will wake you the fuck up! If you’re looking for something more upbeat and along the lines of garage rock, you NEED this album. FUZZTER is a stoner/fuzz/punk/garage band from Lima, Peru on their third album release! The record is just as badass as it’s cover art! It’s fast with the tempo, and fiery with the guitar — not to mention the killer vocals. This is something I’d play to wake myself up out of a weed coma — so maybe it’ll help you not pass out on the couch with it’s quick adrenaline fueled songs! MÅNESKJOLD — ‘SØLVHJERNESKALLER’
Another fiery record! If you’re still in that feisty mood (same), I can seriously recommend this album right here! From Copenhagen, Denmark, MÅNESKJOLD is a loud stoner rock machine! With ‘SØLVHJERNESKALLER’ as their latest installment, I wish I had heard about this band sooner (better late than never right?)! They’ve been cranking out jams since 2016 (probably later than that). I’m loving the vocal range on the album. They have a distinct style that gives the album more of an edge then other stoner rock albums that I hear.
