Hey everyone! I’ve rediscovered my old favorite tv show Spawn on HBO and I had a bit of a marathon. Not sure why I remembered it as a movie… but this is straight from my childhood. Also, I can’t believe I watched this as a child — my god. If you have kids don’t have HBO, or Showtime, or Cinemax (hahaha!) cause looking back now I’ve seen some crazy shit. Two words — Tentacle porn. I thought it was going to be regular anime.. oh well. And now that I’ve ruined your life or made you laugh hysterically (both?), let’s get into some metal!
LONESTAR MASSACRE — “DAEDRIC PRINCE“
Coming from Houston, Texas deathcore band LONESTAR MASSACRE has just released a new song called “Daedric Prince”. LONESTAR MASSACRE puts out a new jam once a year and it’s here already — and with a music video! This song is a little more polished then their earlier works and I’m wondering if this will lead to a full demo or an EP of some kind (would love to hear more)! No mention of it yet, but I’ll keep a look out for it! For now we have this new music video for their latest release “Daedric Prince” — check it out below! NECROTTED — ‘OPERATION: MENTAL CASTRATION‘
Another brutal killer! New album called ‘Operation: Mental Castration’ was released by Germany’s own NECROTTED. I really vibe with the drumming and rhythmic switches — death metal gold. What I like about this band’s way of playing death metal is that they aren’t playing it old school, but you can hear the old school coming through in a new way. It’s a little melodic and thrash (their brand of metal), but you can hear the classic tones of old school death meatal throughout the album. NECROTTED has been around for years and doesn’t seem to be slowing down. DIVINE DESTRUCTION – ‘MY SUFFERING’
Adhering to my regular routine, this is of course the most brutal thing I will be posting about this week. I would definitely describe this as blackened deathcore and I don’t see it often enough. Floridian band DIVINE DESTRUCTION has released a brand new album called ‘My Suffering’ last week and I’m already in love with it! The sound is almost sludge but keeps to the core values of the deathcore metal sound. I don’t want to spoil it too much but I will say that “The Witch” is my favorite song from the album — really showcases the band’s strengths all in one song.
