Hello My lovelies! I don’t know about you but I’m feeling more fiery than usual since Aries season coming in three days (and Venus enters Aries the day after). It’s New Moon in Pisces right now and it fees like a mighty storm is a’ brewing. Right now I’m playing GTA V (just barely started it) and I cannot drive in this game for shit! I literally, just barely outran the cops and then accidentally started a new police chase cause I hit a cop that WASN’T looking for me before flipping the car into a nearby river shorty after. Typical Sri shit. If you knew me in real life you’d be shaking your head like “fuckin’ Sri” (I already hear you Mari haha!). Anyway, I’m already feeling the Aries season vibe over here and I’ve been revving up for a ritual just for it.
What To Do Around This Time:
As for this storm, however tumultuous it may be, you can overcome it. This moon is telling us to connect with our most divine self. Prepare for the upcoming storm by being in full tune with yourself and have clear cut ideas about what you want. If you’re feeling the Aries vibe like I am right now, you’re probably getting more amped up for something that you’re currently doing. Take time to breathe first and take precautions to keep yourself from burning out. We have three more days of this Pisces moon before we hit that fiery season.
DEADWOOD TREE — ‘MOURN’
This album is just too amazing for too many reasons. DEADWOOD TREE‘s ‘Mourn’ album is a deliciously diabolical mixture of AMENRA, ELECTRIC WIZARD, and CONVERGE. Elements of sludge, stoner/doom, and hardcore punk are very present here. It was released back in September of (the dreaded year) 2020, but was just posted on one of my favorite doom channels on YouTube. ‘Mourn’ is a gorgeous, well-rounded album with all of the elements needed to create something different and just plain raw as fuck. NOTHING IS REAL — ‘PAIN IS JOY’
Now, if you went to the YouTube channel to watch the video above and went through the album, you might have seen this start to load up. That’s literally how I found it — all of a sudden I heard saxophones and I said, “ohh y’all getting sexy on me now?”, but it was this band. NOTHING IS REAL is an experimental metal band from Los Angeles, California (hey neighbor!) and they’ve been making a lot of music since their debut in 2019. Their album called ‘Pain Is Joy’ is a huge mixture of different genres including: doom, sludge, black, heavy, death, post, and progressive metal. If you’re into or looking for something very different or new (or if you happen to be the kind of person that can’t stick to a genre when listening to music) NOTHING IS REAL is the band for you! IRON WITCH — ‘A HARROWED DAWN’
Another deadly and beautiful album — this time IRON WITCH is making some noise! This sludge metal band from Liverpool, UK has been on one for some time now. This album right here — ‘Harrowed Dawn’ is from 2016 and is a shining example of their capabilities. Crusty, sludge metal mixed with some elements of black metal and it’s own unique form of melodic undertones. IRON WITCH has to be one of the more sludge filled album I’ve heard since GREEN DRUID‘s last release (and you know I love GD).
