Heyyy! It’s MFKN METAL MONDAY! Hope your weekend was amazing! Or if you’re like me, “weekend” and “week day” seem to be the same. Lately I’ve been trying my luck at looking for new jams to post about on here. There’s some good shit out there on YouTube and whatnot, but I’m looking for MORE ways to find underground metal. I rely on YouTube channels and emails from bands to put people on here — I need to do more. There’s more out there… I fucking know it. Aside from Spotify, let me know how and where I can find some more of this good shit! Let’s go!
GODHAND — “MORE THAN A HAIRLINE FRACTURE”
Finally…. something worth a damn. I can’t tell you how all over the place I’ve been looking for good music this week. Seems a little scarce this time. Luckily, GODHAND has dropped a music video for their song “More Than A Hairline Fracture”. I love the obvious deathcore-ness of the song, but my favorite part was when they (the whole band) all had a verse and flipped the beat. I’ve been hearing a lot of bands lately who do NOT have rhythm… at all. Not even flipping the beat up, just playing the songs they got confused and off tempo. This, however, was a relief to listen to — someone actually knows music. GODHAND is a deathcore band coming out of Houston, Texas and is relatively new to the scene but has been making some solid moves since their self titled EP release in 2019. Looks like there’s going to be a new album drop, so look out for that! No Band Camp to speak of yet, but they’ll give the update on their social media when it happens! For now, we have Spotify and this badass music video below!
SATANIC WARMASTER — ‘FIMBULWINTER’
This has got to be the most top notch black metal I’ve heard in a couple of weeks; with a name like SATANIC WARMASTER you’d better bring it. Well they’ve been around since 99′ and haven’t really slowed down this entire time. If you’re deeply into black metal music, you’ve probably heard of these veterans. Straight out of Finland with a throwback record titled ‘Fimbulwinter’ which was dropped back in 2014! This is some trve kvlt shit and there’s sooooo much more on their Band Camp! Their latest album from 2018 — titled ‘Luciferian Torches’ — will not be the last we hear from them, but it’s fun to have a look back at some amazing black metal magic (and to know that there’s a shit ton more where this came from!). Check out SATANIC WARMASTER‘s album ‘Fimbulwinter’ and head over to their Band Camp for more trve kvlt gold!
CARNAGE INC. — ‘TENEBRIS’
Gorgeous thrash metal from Mumbai, India!!! Honestly, LOVED the intro (the only one I’ve loved in a long time). It’s not a boring, gore whore clip from a horror movie… it’s an ACTUAL intro. Like, with MUSIC n shit. CARNAGE INC. has a certain style to it, mainly because they’re ethnicity is ingrained in the music. I’m a lowkey fan of Bollywood films and Indian horror movies (YES bitch, Indian horror is savage), and every once in a while I hear a little bit of Bolly/Indian influences. I’m pretty sure you can’t catch onto it unless you’re familiar with their country’s style of music, but if you can hear it, it’s marvelous (listen to the riffs). ‘TENEBRIS’ was released in 2019 but I wanted to share it because of the cultural influence, and the clear cut representation (especially with “Saffron Is The New Black”). I’m not even from India, nor am I Hindi (ohhh big shock cause of my name huh?), but I was completely excited that they had represented their culture through metal INSTEAD of leaving their culture behind to play metal. Good shit! Check out CARNAGE INC.’s 2019 album ‘Tenebris’ below and show them some love on their Band Camp page!
