Hey everyone! Another week, another list of awesome music! I’m officially out of my coma and I’m excited to bring you some new jams for your Monday night family room fight. This week I’m looking for some good and brutal tracks to keep me awake at my old, “withered grandma” age (or maybe I smoke too much weed… I don’t know). Either way I’m kicking this list off with some awesome music from start to finish. And if you fall asleep, maybe you’re old too (haha)! Let’s go!
DRILL — “VEIL OF IGNORANCE”
New music from St. Gallen, Switzerland’s metalcore band DRILL! This song “Veil Of Ignorance” was released about four days ago on their Band Camp along with another song called “Nomad”. DRILL has been coming out with music here and there since 2018, but it looks like they’ve been picking up a bit since the pandemic! Their style has just the right amount of brutality carried throughout the music. CHOKED BY OWN VOMITS — “SHIT WORLD”
I’m getting some flashbacks from the band name (hahaha!) — it’s death/grind band CHOKED BY OWN VOMITS from Rakovník, Czechia with their new music video for their 2017 song “Shit World”. The music video is verrrry COVID-19 (perfect) and sets in a “radioactive” forest that may or may not be blown to bits (watch video). CHOKED BY OWN VOMITS has been around since 2004 (holy shit), and has been steadily making music ever since then. “Shit World” is the first I’ve ever seen them and I’m loving it so far! WOLF KING — ‘THE PATH OF WRATH’
Loving this sick blackened wrath! Blackened hardcore metal band WOLF KING has come out with a new album called ‘The Path Of Wrath’! I don’t hear this mixture often enough — blackened anything is just.. perfect. Beautiful howls and of course, my favorite, melodic tones mixing with blackened thrash. WOLF KING releases a new album every two years or so via Band Camp, and has been since 2016. With this latest installment by the Bay Area natives (another band I almost ran into pre-COVID), it’s a more developed and intense sound, but still true to their blackened soul. REFORE — ‘BUILT TO NOTHING’
This is rage in music form — love it! REFORE is a thrash metal band from Štítná Nad Vláří, Czechia who has come out with their debut album entitled ‘Built To Nothing’. I’m in love with the shredding — it’s giving me some heavy 80’s nostalgia. As their debut album REFORE left nothing to chance and gave it their all (when bands are at their best). ‘Built To Nothing’ was just released two days ago and is already getting some heavy traction!
