Hello My loves! Another full moon is upon us and it’s in Virgo this time! Full Virgo Moons are great for nurturing yourself, your craft, or anything you’re putting your energy into. As an earth moon, it’s also a good time to ground and grow yourself. This Saturday “morning” at 12:17am PST (so, basically Friday night but very late) will be the Full Moon’s peak and the best time to have your ritual — you can figure out what time your peak is on here!
What To Do Around This Time:

Surrounding myself with plants is my favorite way to celebrate earth moons, especially Virgo moons. It’s always been known as one of the “divine feminine” or “motherly” moons — the nurturing nature of Mother Earth. Around this time you should be balancing yourself and growing. This is also a great time to heal old wounds, and “burying” old emotions that no longer serve you. Focus on the future and how you want (and need) to grow to accomplish your goals. This is tough love time. You need to get real with your ideas and focus on what you are actually able to accomplish right now. There’s a saying — “if you chase two rabbits you end up losing both”. Chill out, unwind, take care of yourself, and figure out your strengths and weaknesses. And above all, heal.
MUR — “INNER HOLE”
MUR is an atmospheric black metal band from Paris, France that I’m starting to fall in love with. I didn’t know that I needed this new take of the genre until I heard it. This is a song I’d play mid-ritual while I was in full mode and my altar was brightly lit. It’s dark, moody/broody, and with a swell of sour noted riffs that’s coated in black metal screams. “Inner Hole” is their latest release from their upcoming EP ‘TRUTH’ which is due March 26th. Check out MUR‘s awesome new track “Inner Hole” below and you can purchase it on their Band Camp now, or stay tuned for their new EP next month!
OLHAVA — ‘LADOGA’
This blackgaze metal band from Saint Petersburg, Russia is a whole other type of vibe. OLHAVA‘s newest album ‘LADOGA’ combines black metal with shoegaze to create a new, mysterious sounding kind of music. I’m especially loving the song “Trembling Night” — that’s where it gets really shoegazey for me. This was released almost a year ago, so hopefully there will be some new music coming up this or next year! ‘LADOGA’ is another I’d play mid-ritual, maybe towards the end for a chill finish. Right now, OLHAVA has music and merch for sale on their Band Camp but it’s verrry limited! Check out their album below and their other music here!
FAT SOUL — ‘ELECTRIC LIGHT & MAGIC’
Another one with a whole other element of their own. FAT SOUL is a psych/neo/indie genre bending band from Västerås, Sweden that brings originality to their musical ingenuity and identity. It’s not often that I post something this “soft” sounding, but it was too interesting not to. This is a beautiful record to start your Virgo Moon ritual with — it feels like the sounds are blooming as they unfold throughout the ‘Electric Light & Magic’ album. You can check out their record below and purchase it via Band Camp!
BUBAK — ‘VOL. 3’
Now that I’m done being cute and whimsical, let’s turn it out with some BUBAK — a stoner/doom metal band from Ypsilanti, Michigan. There’s definitely hints of punk, black metal, and thrash as well. BUBAK‘s ‘VOL.3’ album is something I’d put on to heighten the energy of my ritual — it’s high velocity metal as opposed to the chill/normal take on stoner/doom metal. Listen to their wild album below and be sure to purchase it/check out their other EP’s on Band Camp as well!
SLEEP — LIVE AT HELLFEST 2013
Last but certainly not least, a little special video of SLEEP performing live at HELLFEST back in 2013. I’ve never been to France’s HELLFEST and I’ve always wanted to go — I guess I’ll just add that to my post-COVID plans. Other than that, it’s SLEEP, do I really need to say anything? Just enjoy.
AS ABOVE, SO BELOW.
