Another week has gone by and I’m that much closer to my birthday this Sunday! Almost started my purriod on my special weekend though — fuckin yikes. Nothing worse than that. But my vagina and I had a talk, and it agreed to get it out of the way before my big day. However, of course, that agreement comes with the whole “I want to kill everything that moves” vibe. So, here’s an “I want to kill everything that moves” playlist of songs for this week. Either it slams, or it’s brutal, or both. You’re welcome. Let’s get this shit started.
THE HATE PROJECT — “SENTENCED TO DECAY”
Perfect way to begin this hateful playlist — just start with a band called THE HATE PROJECT. Blasting all the way from Kalmar, Sweden this deathcore/djent band has got some major potential. With their newly released video for “Sentenced To Decay” they’re bound to turn some (metal) heads for sure. This is the second song from THE HATE PROJECT‘s new album entitled ‘Seize The Obscurity’ which will be out February 27th. How on earth did I find their other music? Hit up their Spotify! Fairly certain that their new album will be available for purchase on their official website linked above (if not, that’s what the other links are for). Check out their badass new music video for “Sentenced To Decay” below and follow them on social media for more information on the new album release!
EYEZ WIDE SHUT — ‘DEMO TAPE 2020’
If you want to know what a band is really about, you’ve got to listen to their demos. EYEZ WIDE SHUT‘s demo is slower (at first) and a bit nastier — perfect Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate fight music. The demo may be only a little longer than five minutes, but it tells me everything I need to know about EYEZ WIDE SHUT. They’re a brutality loving, pig squealing, ear fuck — and I need more. This album came out about a year ago and Raleigh, North Carolina’s new hardcore/beatdown band hasn’t made any new waves as of yet. Will definitely stay tuned for that. In the meantime, check them out below, and show your support by heading over to their Band Camp page!
SHIVA — “PURSUIT OF POWER”
Speaking of “brutality loving… ear fucks”, I’m digging this song for some of the same reasons. I’m also digging this video cause it reminded me of my random pact I had made that if I ever fucked around and had a kid (never) that I needed them to bring me a super saiyan wig so I could “KAMEHAMEHAAAAA” that fucker out. I’d be the coolest mom ever in .03 seconds flat. But I digress… SHIVA is the shit. This Australian deathcore band LITERALLY just released this song like an hour or so ago! “Pursuit of Power” is a hazard to my furniture (mosh pit may ensue), but a blessing to my violent mood today. It looks like this is going to be SHIVA‘s first run and it’s all starting right now! No Band Camp to speak of yet, but I’m sure they’ll post all the info when it’s ready! Now, I’ll be switching characters in MK11U from Jade to Sheeva…. FIGHT!
PATH OF RESURGENCE — ‘BLINDED BY DESIRE’
What’s an angry playlist without some full blown screams? Last year PATH OF RESURGENCE came out with their demo, and now they’ve graduated onto a full blown EP. PATH OF RESURGENCE‘s EP ‘Blinded By Desire’ is the best way I could describe how I feel right now — divine rage. This hardcore metal band from Lausanne, Switzerland really knows how to get my blood pumping (well, what’s left anyway). With these 90’s punk influences throughout the record, there’s no reason not to throw a chair. Loving the mid-album dreamlike melody with the hardcore finish! Check out the new album ‘Blinded By Desire’ by PATH OF RESURGENCE below, and get over to their Band Camp page to purchase!
INTERNAL DISCORDANCE — “REMNANT”
INTERNAL DISCORDANCE… literally what’s happening inside of me right now. Knowing full well that I always save the best for last, you can guess where this is going. Sweet brutality. And believe it or not, this Polish deathcore band is operated by one person. Again, I am loving the creativity of these single-soul bands popping up as a result of corona. Seriously changing the game here! “Remnant” is a dark and decadent song with plenty of sorrow and woe throughout. Oh, and that’s just their first release. The band INTERNAL DISCORDANCE has an EP out right now called ‘Pariah’! Three tracks of sickness and it’s all available on their official Band Camp page! Head over there for a listen and some purchases!
