Good evening my lovely witches! I hope your Full Leo Moon spells and rituals went according to plan. Right now you’re probably pumped and full of energy, but some of you may be a little burned out already (usually me)! There’s always a chance you’d run out of energy mid-way through the Leo phase, but not to worry, you can always replenish your energy supply! Whether you’re into stones, music, or both — I’ve got you covered! Let’s see what I can prescribe here…
What To Do Around This Time:
If you’re feeling overwhelmed you’re probably off balance, or you have low energy with things piling up — or both! When it comes to energy stones, Carnelian seems to be the best fit for restoring that fire. And as for balance — ever think about trying a water or earth based spell during a fire moon? I tried it out this time and came back with some interesting results (will write the post, but still documenting progress). The idea is not to put the flame out, but keep it controlled so as to not burn out and be depleted of energy when you need it most. If you need an adrenaline shock to the system here’s some music to help with pumping you back up!
MONOLORD — “EMPRESS RISING”
Obvious choice for getting things started — my favorite MONOLORD song. “Empress Rising” is the title track from MONOLORD‘s 2014 album and it’s one of the best witchy/ritual songs I could recommend for energy surging. This stoner rock band is from Gothenburg, Sweden and are amazing to watch live! The song “Empress Rising” is eleven minutes of powerful energy, and a series of overlapping riffs. It’s an immediate energy booster for me personally (just listening to it), but with a ritual it becomes much more grandiose. THE GINGER FAYE BAKERS — ‘CAMARO’
Another energy boosting record! This Rochester, New York psychedelic stoner rock band known as THE GINGER FAYE BAKERS give out an electric vibe to anyone who’s curious to listen. This band had been on a little break (as all bands do), but after about five years they’ve released their latest album called ‘CAMARO”. THE GINGER FAYE BAKERS are a refreshing reminder of what stoner rock can be — loud, crazy, a little weird, and super psychedelic! SUN CROW — “FELL ACROSS THE SKY”
Let’s get a little dark, shall we? SUN CROW is a psychedelic stoner/doom metal band from Seattle, Washington that is more grounding than it is fiery. “FELL ACROSS THE SKY” is a beautiful doomy/gloomy song to help balance out your fiery energy. SUN CROW invokes a sense of calm and deep, dark meditation for higher power — and also a little energy boost at the end. If you’re looking for something to steady yourself with during a Full Leo Moon night, this is your song! ANGEL OF MARS — ‘SOLSTICE RISING’
This one is a little spicy! ANGEL OF MARS is an alternative/doom/stoner rock band from Detroit, Michigan that’s been newly formed over the age of quarantine. Their two-track releases over the passed couple of months have been a glimpse into what direction they’re headed towards. ‘SOLSTICE RISING’ being their latest release, I’m very confident that I’ll be intrigued by what they’ll release next. I’m digging how mixed this double track is — perfect for balance and transitioning. DEFTONES — “THE SPELL OF MATHEMATICS”
My favorite band, period. DEFTONES is a nu/melodic metal band from my hometown of Sacramento, California (ayyyeeee!) and have always been my bread and butter when it comes to music. Their latest album ‘OHMS’ included some of the coolest spellcasting songs, but there was one that got me. “THE SPELL OF MATHEMATICS” is a sensual dive into the heart of DEFTONES‘ style: melodically deep and methodically metal. The song is energizing in some parts and balancing in others — the best of both worlds. This would be a perfect ending to a balancing spell to keep yourself and your soul lit while you make your way through this Full Leo Moon phase.
